Zhou Hongyi: The concept of "metaverse" may make a comeback next year
Founder of 360, Zhou Hongyi, stated that influenced by OpenAI's release of Sora, the concept of metaverse may make a comeback next year. He believes that three things will greatly help the development of the metaverse: first is head-mounted display devices, including Apple's Vision Pro; second is the development of AIGC which can generate more 3D content; third is using AI for 3D modeling and then rendering. Nevertheless, the metaverse remains an application-oriented concept rather than a simulation-oriented one; simulation still belongs to artificial intelligence concepts.
