Modulus Labs launches innovative ZKML prover Remainder
Modulus Labs announced the official launch of its zero-knowledge machine learning (ZKML) prover Remainder. By applying the GKR prover to production for the first time, Remainder achieved 180 times efficiency improvement compared to traditional AI reasoning under equal hardware conditions. This technology not only demonstrates enormous potential in safeguarding data privacy and security, but also lays the foundation for the practical application of verifiable AI.
The development of Remainder is based on deep insights into the performance exploration of specialized zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), and significantly improves the verification efficiency of AI reasoning process by optimizing the application of the GKR protocol. In addition, the prover has silently completed hundreds of thousands of AI result records on Ethereum, proving its stability and reliability in practical applications.
To delve into the theory behind Remainder, Modulus Labs will release a series of papers this year, with the first paper "Intelligent Extension: Verifiable Decision Forest Reasoning using Remainder" detailing a series of optimization measures that support Remainder. The MEAP project is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2024, aiming to lead participants to master GKR comprehensively from theory to practice, and to build and prove circuits in Remainder.
