Founder of cryptocurrency mixing service Bitcoin Fog found guilty of money laundering
The founder of the cryptocurrency mixing service Bitcoin Fog was convicted in a federal court in Washington for laundering tens of millions of dollars for dark web markets known for selling illegal drugs. On Tuesday, a jury made the verdict that 35-year-old Roman Sterlingov's mixing service made it more difficult to trace the source of illegal activity profits. The government claims that Bitcoin Fog processed over $400 million in untraceable transactions, some of which came from illegal markets.
