SEC will submit public version of opening brief on relief measures in Ripple lawsuit next week

SEC will submit public version of opening brief on relief measures in Ripple lawsuit next week

2024/03/23 07:01

According to Mars Finance news, the U.S. SEC submitted its opening defense brief on remedies (remedies) in the lawsuit against Ripple. The SEC's brief and supporting documents were filed under seal, according to a tweet from attorney James K. Filan, a former U.S. attorney. Because the documents are sealed, they will be available to the public once the necessary redactions are completed. Specifically, the SEC and Ripple Labs will meet on March 25 to discuss the necessary revisions. Subject to relevant revisions, the SEC will file a public version of the revised relief brief on or before March 26. It is worth mentioning that this move is consistent with the sealing request made by both parties this week. Both parties will also go through a similar process next month when Ripple files its objections.

On April 22, Ripple will file its objections to the SEC’s brief on relief measures under seal. The parties will meet to discuss the necessary revisions on April 23 and will publicly submit objections to the revised version on April 24. In addition, the SEC will also submit its response to Ripple’s objections in the same manner. According to the joint seal recommendation, its response will be submitted under seal on May 6, with the parties meeting on May 7 to discuss revisions and submitting a redacted version on May 8.
