Scammers use Google platform to promote phishing website pretending to be Whales Market to steal cryptocurrency
PANews reported on April 19 that according to Cointelegraph, a report by BleepingComputer stated that threat actors have found a way to promote fake versions of Whales Market, which are placed as sponsored links (i.e. ads) on Google searches. top of the results page. Although the domain address displayed on the search results page appears to be genuine, users are redirected to the fake website [www.whaels.market] after clicking on it. Malicious actors have registered multiple domain names that mimic Whales Market, including the inactive [www.whaless.market]. The fake version replicates the interface of the real Whales Market website, tricking users into connecting their digital wallets. However, when activated, the malicious script steals cryptocurrency from the victim’s wallet.
