Hong Kong Monetary Authority: Expanding the cross-border pilot program of digital renminbi in Hong Kong
PANews reported on May 17 that according to Jinshi, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced further results in its cooperation with the People’s Bank of China on the digital renminbi cross-border payment pilot, expanding the scope of the digital renminbi pilot in Hong Kong and facilitating the issuance and use of digital renminbi by Hong Kong residents. Digital RMB wallet, and adding value to the digital currency wallet through "FPS". With this expanded pilot scope, users can now open and use a personal digital currency wallet in Hong Kong with just a Hong Kong mobile phone number. Digital currency wallets can be used for cross-border payments, but cannot be used for transfers between individuals. Hong Kong users can add value to their wallets through "FPS" at 17 local retail banks. In addition to being used in the Greater Bay Area, digital renminbi can also be used in other pilot areas on the mainland.
