UAE Agriculture Authority bans farmers from cryptocurrency mining on farms
Golden Finance reports that the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority in the United Arab Emirates told farmers that farms cannot be used as cryptocurrency mining sites. The government agency said such activity was considered "misuse of farms for purposes other than their intended use". In addition, those who violate this regulation will face penalties of up to 10,000 UAE dirhams (approximately US$2,722).
