Twitter Launches Community Notes for Images to Combat Misleading Media
Twitter has launched Community Notes for images in posts to put more responsibility on crowdsourced moderation. The feature aims to flag content like morphed or AI-generated images that go viral on the platform. The notes will appear on "recent & future" posts containing the image, and only contributors with an impact score of 10 will be able to submit notes. The feature is currently in the testing phase and will work for tweets with a singular image, but Twitter is working on expanding it to support videos and tweets with multiple media.
