The cumulative financing total of the encryption industry has broken through 100 billion US dollars over the past decade
Since the end of May 2014, encryption startups have raised over $100 billion. Despite regulatory uncertainties and market volatility, the financing range in this industry has increased over the past four years. According to DefiLlama data, as of June 16, 2024, the total financing amount in the cryptocurrency industry reached $101.35 billion. Looking back to May 2014, startup companies in the industry only financed $17.14 million in their first month. Ten years later in May 2024, monthly financing increased to $280.25 million which is higher than ten years ago but far below previous month's figure of $777.11 million.
In October 2021, cryptocurrency startups reached a historical peak with more than $7 billion funding; second highest was February 2022 with $3.67 billion funding . Research shows that nearly half of cryptocurrency funds come from US investors followed by UK and Singapore respectively ranking second and third place . Recently , Together.AI , Wormhole , Totter , Eigenlayer , Swan Bitcoin and Blockchain.com all received high amounts of funding.
