RISC Zero launches zkVM 1.0
RISC Zero has launched zkVM 1.0, which is the production-ready iteration of its universal zkVM. The system can generate proofs for any program written in Rust and is compatible with multiple chains, allowing for proof verification on any chain. According to RISC Zero, zkVM 1.0 is more cost-effective than competing proof systems such as Plonky 3. Prior to the release of zkVM, RISC Zero held a trusted setup ceremony, underwent security audits, and released its verifier on multiple platforms including Ethereum, Base, OP, Arbitrum, World Chain, and Starknet. Developers can now use zkVM to create ZK-driven dapps on any chain.
