The Nigerian SEC values the local cryptocurrency industry at 400 million US dollars
Emomotimi Agama, Chairman of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), predicts that despite recent crackdowns on exchanges in the country, cryptocurrency trading volume will increase in the coming years. Agama stated: "The estimated value of the cryptocurrency market in this country exceeds 400 million US dollars, with a significant portion of the population participating in cryptocurrency transactions." According to Agama's data, at least 33.4% of the population owns or uses cryptocurrencies.
