Latest US poll: Nearly half of Democratic voters believe that Biden should not continue to participate in the presidential election
According to a news report by PANews on July 1, citing CCTV News on the same day, a public opinion poll conducted jointly by CBS and YouGov in the United States showed that nearly half (46%) of Democratic voters believe that current President Biden should not continue to participate in the upcoming November presidential election. This figure has risen by 10 percentage points since February this year. Meanwhile, 54% of Democratic voters still believe Biden should continue his candidacy.
The survey was conducted among 1130 registered voters from June 28 to June 29. President Biden and former President Trump held their first televised debate on the evening of June 27. Biden's unstable performance during the debate raised concerns among some Democrats about whether he should continue his presidential campaign.
