The three major U.S. stock indexes closed collectively higher, the Dow rose 0.17%, a cumulative gain of 0.66% this week; the Nasdaq rose 0.9%, a cumulative gain of 3.5% this week; the S&P 500 index rose 0.54%, a cumulative gain of 1.95% this week, of which the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 indexes hit new closing highs again. Most of the popular technology stocks rose, Meta rose nearly 6%, Google, Apple, Tesla rose more than 2%, Tesla for the eighth consecutive day of gains, the cumulative total for the week rose nearly 30%, Microsoft, Amazon rose more than 1%, Nvidia fell nearly 2%.
