Blockchain identity platform Fractal ID suffers data breach
BlockBeats news, on July 18th, the blockchain identity platform Fractal ID announced that on July 14th, 2024, one of its engineers detected a potential data breach in the Fractal ID system. A third party unauthorized access to an operator's account at Fractal ID and ran an API script to access users' personal data. The Fractal ID team noticed this attack and took measures to log out the attacker from the system.
The attacker gained approximately 0.5% data access permission of the user base of Fractal ID. Potentially affected information includes details in Fractal ID user profiles such as names, email addresses, wallet addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, as well as images and photos uploaded documents.
Fractal ID immediately took steps to mitigate the impact of this breach and implemented additional security measures. They also contacted relevant data protection agencies and cybercrime police departments. This breach was contained within the environment of Fractal ID and did not affect any customer systems or products using their services.
