Trump Has Raised Over $4 Million in Crypto Donations, More Than Half in Bitcoin
On July 26, Donald Trump has raised more than $4 million in cryptocurrency, with contributors having donated bitcoin, ethereum, XRP, and USDC, according to CNBC. at least 19 donors have given more than $2.15 million in bitcoin to the council.
Cryptocurrency billionaire twins Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss led the way, donating 15.57 bitcoins each, or just over $1 million at the time of donation. Mike Belshe, CEO of digital asset security firm BitGo, donated $50,000 in bitcoin, Jesse Powell, founder and former CEO of Kraken, donated nearly $845,000 in ethereum, and Ripple's chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty donated $300,000 in XRP tokens. Ryan Selkis, former CEO of Messari, donated $50,000 in USDC.
