Vitalik's outlook for 2034: Using Ethereum L2 will become as smooth as using the Ethereum mainnet directly

BlockBeats reports that on July 30, at the Ethereum Developer Community Conference EDCON 2024, Vitalik Buterin stated in his keynote speech "The Next Ten Years of Ethereum" that "In the next ten years, we can do more. Looking forward to 2034, one use case for wallets includes voting; we can try to make voting more transparent and even attempt to combine it with certain aspects of finance. By 2034, Ethereum's scalability will be better and transaction fees will be lower. In terms of user experience and security dimensions, by 2034 Web2 user experience and Web3 user sovereignty value will merge together making it safer than traditional Web2 services.

Furthermore, using Ethereum L2 will become as smooth as directly using the main Ethereum network. Additionally, I believe builders should not just replicate Web2 but take a step ahead and dare to explore. By 2034 there won't only be desktops and mobile devices but also wearable devices, locally running AI’s , AR technology , possibly BCI too along with some practical technologies built directly into wallets or browsers like Community Notes , prediction markets etc., which could verify everything in terms of security."
