Nasdaq withdraws listing application for Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETF options
According to documents on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website, Nasdaq has withdrawn two applications for listing and trading Bitcoin spot and Ethereum spot ETF options. Meanwhile, the NYSE also withdrew its application for listing and trading Bitwise and Grayscale Bitcoin Spot ETF options on the same day. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart said he expects Nasdaq and NYSE to resubmit applications for listing Bitcoin Spot ETF options in the next few days or weeks. According to previous news, other exchanges also withdrew similar applications last week. MIAX, MIAX Pearl, and BOX Exchange have withdrawn proposals for listing Bitcoin Spot ETF options; Chicago Options Exchange also withdrew its application for a Bitcoin Spot ETF option but then re-submitted it. The SEC has not yet approved option product trades based on Bitcoin spot and Ethereum spot ETFs.
