Former FTX executive Ryan Salame withdraws request to enforce plea agreement
Former FTX executive Ryan Salame has withdrawn his request to a New York court to enforce his plea agreement with the prosecutor, or to withdraw his guilty plea and cancel the sentence. Salame was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison this May. His withdrawal of the request is intended for his partner Michelle Bond to raise relevant issues in her case. Salame's lawyer said that when facilitating Salame's guilty plea, the prosecutor had promised to stop investigating Bond. Bond is Salame's long-term partner and mother of their child, who once worked at the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She was accused of accepting illegal campaign donations during her run for Congress in 2022. On August 22nd, Bond appeared in court in Southern District of New York and was granted bail for one million dollars. She faces four charges related to election finance violations, each charge carrying a maximum sentence of five years.
