Insider: OpenAI Plans to Raise Billions of Dollars to Build US AI Infrastructure
BlockBeats reports that on September 4, according to insiders, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's plan to attract global investors to support the construction of AI infrastructure is becoming clearer. The focus initially will be launching in various states across the United States and is expected to cost tens of billions of dollars.
The types of projects under discussion include building data centers, increasing energy capacity and transmission through turbines and generators, as well as expanding semiconductor manufacturing. Supporters may include investors from Canada, South Korea, Japan and the UAE. Other private companies are also expected to participate in this project.
Microsoft Corporation, OpenAI's largest investor could potentially be a partner for this initiative. However Microsoft has not specifically commented on this project but stated it is informed about and involved with any extensive efforts related to infrastructure by the company.
