American companies use Bitcoin to pay for the cost of purchasing coffee from El Salvador
According to the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U.S. coffee company Compass Coffee has completed international procurement of Salvadoran coffee using Bitcoin. Jorge Cruz, the Salvadoran party in this transaction, explained that he received payment in less than 10 minutes, thus avoiding the need for intermediaries in such transactions. This deal originated from a series of talks held by the U.S. Department of State and Compass Coffee in 2022, aiming to introduce domestic coffee into the United States and connect producers and buyers from these countries.
