Bitwise: The most influential people in the finance industry have started holding cryptocurrencies
Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan has attended the Barron's Advisor 100 Summit three times in a row, a summit that brings together top financial advisors in the United States. During his speech at this summit, Hougan conducted an on-site assessment to understand whether the audience were cryptocurrency experts or novices, supporters or skeptics. He stated that two years ago when he asked this question to the same group of people, only a few raised their hands - probably 10% or 20%. Last year, it was roughly the same situation. This year, almost everyone in the room raised their hand. I don't have exact numbers but I estimate at least 70% of advisors in the room raised their hands. Hougan believes that some of most influential people in finance are finally starting to invest in cryptocurrencies. When this trend spreads from them to their clients things will quickly become interesting.
