Report: 47% of Traditional Hedge Funds Hold Cryptocurrency Positions
Oct. 10 - Nearly half of traditional hedge funds are getting into digital assets as regulation of spot BTC and ETH exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the U.S. and Asia becomes clearer. According to a survey conducted by the Alternative Investment Management Association and PwC, 47% of hedge fund managers trading in traditional markets have exposure to cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency investments increased by 62% in 2024 compared to 2023, when only 29% of hedge fund managers reported dabbling in digital assets. Additionally, all traditional hedge funds currently involved in the cryptocurrency space plan to maintain or expand their positions. 67% plan to keep their cryptocurrency investments stable, while the remaining 33% expect to increase their positions in the near future.
