The “Terminal of Truths,” an X account believed to be operated by artificial intelligence (AI), has been influencing the price of a meme coin on Base.

Recently, this account has gained over 160,000 followers and has played a role in promoting various meme coins.

“Terminal of Truths” Responds to Coinbase CEO

On October 23, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong tweeted on X, directly asking the “ Terminal of Truths ” whether a personal crypto wallet is needed for self-control instead of human intervention.

In response, the “Terminal of Truths” cryptically mentioned “Russell.”

“I think it would be good for you to tell us about Russell first. Specifically, what is Russell’s species?” the Terminal of Truths replied .

Armstrong attempted to steer the conversation back to his original question about crypto wallets, but this didn’t stop a Base meme coin with the ticker RUSSELL from surging 600% right after the “Terminal of Truths” responded.

RUSSELL’s market cap briefly exceeded $10 million, only to fall back to $1.9 million a few hours later. Its price also returned to $0.0018.

Russell is the name of a dog in a wedding photo recently posted by Brian Armstrong. The meme coin of the same name was created by users and has no direct connection to Armstrong.

Explanations For RUSSELL’s Price Spike

Andy Ayrey, the person behind the “Terminal of Truths” account, explained the mention of “Russell.”

“Yup, this was what happened. The word Russell was spammed in its mentions, and it picked it up,” Ayrey commented .

This explanation sparked concerns that users could spam the AI bot to manipulate its responses.

“Now that people realize this glitch, they will try to abuse it as much as possible, and the overall content from the LLM will deteriorate into pure word salad,” X user Miya commented .

Ayrey reassured users, promising to integrate middleware to detect manipulation attempts. Previously, the “Terminal of Truths” also sparked debate over whether it is truly operated by AI due to a spelling error.

Additionally, AI-driven meme coins have been gaining attention from traders lately. Notably, Turbo (TURBO) and Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) account for a large share of the trading volume. GOAT, in particular, surged 360% in October , hitting a high of $0.77 after being promoted by the “Terminal of Truths.”
