US: Trump's allies implore him to “keep his mouth shut” at the last minute
According to CNN, while it is widely believed that nearly all voters have made up their minds with just one day to go in the U.S. election, some close to Trump are concerned that any unplanned, inappropriate or insulting remarks could cause voters not to go out and cast their ballots in a race where every vote counts. Trump's advisers, allies and aides have pleaded with him not to stray from his pre-determined message on the final day of the campaign, multiple people familiar with the matter said. Late Sunday and Monday morning, Trump also appeared to stick to his pre-written remarks. The source added that allies advised Trump to keep a good pace and not deviate too much from the script, noting that his lengthy remarks were also a problem. Trump arrived two hours late for an event in North Carolina on Sunday, and by the time he began speaking, supporters involved in the rally had already left.
