Bitlayer contributes the first usable script splitting implementation for the BitVM open source project
On November 13, Bitlayer, a Bitcoin native second layer project based on Bitcoin finality, announced that it has contributed the first feasible Groth16 verification script split implementation to the open-source project BitVM. The 1GB Groth16 verification script was divided into 975 chunks after splitting, and all chunks can meet the runtime limit of Bitcoin. This implementation fills in a key component in the BitVM implementation, making it possible for the BitVM protocol to run on the Bitcoin mainnet. In addition, Bitlayer revealed its plan to launch the BitVM Bridge test network by the end of 2024.
