Kevin Mirshahi, a 25-year-old crypto influencer abducted from a condo in Montreal in June, was found dead at Île-de-la-Visitation park, according to reports.

The discovery was made by a passerby on October 30, and Montreal police confirmed the body’s identity through an autopsy, based on information provided by *The Gazette* on November 13.

Mirshahi was last seen on June 21 when he and three others were reportedly abducted from a condo building.

The three others managed to escape.

This incident is part of a disturbing pattern involving the abductions and killings of crypto executives and influencers, often linked to financial motives.

*The Gazette* also reported that a 32-year-old woman, Joanie Lepage, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in August.

However, it is unclear whether the case is directly related to Mirshahi’s crypto activities.

Mirshahi was recognized within the Montreal crypto community for owning and managing a private crypto investment firm named “Crypto Paradise Island.”

Despite his influence, he had a controversial reputation.

X user “Bibi” and others alleged that they had been scammed by him.

Québec’s investment regulator, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, banned Mirshahi and two associates from acting as brokers or investment advisers in 2021.

He was also ordered to stop posting related content online, and the ban was extended on July 4, shortly after his abduction.

This case follows other similar incidents in the crypto world.

In Kyiv, Ukraine, four individuals were arrested in July for kidnapping and murdering a Bitcoiner, taking $170,000 worth of Bitcoin.

In August, six Malaysians were charged with kidnapping a Chinese national and demanding $1 million in Tether.

Mirshahi’s death adds to a troubling list of crimes within the cryptocurrency community as authorities continue to investigate.
