Andre Cronje: Sonic will prioritize solving real-world problems over technical challenges

Bitget2024/11/25 08:54

Sonic Labs co-founder Andre Cronje recently discussed Sonic in a podcast, with some key points as follows:
- The use of Uniswap has generated 3 billion dollars for ETH validators. In a fair world, Uniswap should receive most of the funds. Considering this, Sonic plans to give 90% of the fees to the application owners instead of validators;
- Sonic has applied efficiencies from other disciplines in database design and virtual machine design, which other blockchains have ignored due to l33t haXOR spirit. Therefore, Sonic has achieved significant and unique performance improvements;
- ETH is like MySpace (possibly), it can no longer move quickly and break conventional things, so it will undergo Blackberryification;
- Most chains solve technical challenges first then look for problems they can solve. On the contrary, Sonic starts by solving real-world problems.
In previous news, an announcement from Sonic Labs (formerly Fantom) indicated that Sonic would launch on a day in December. Michael Kong, CEO of Sonic Labs added that it won't be on the 27th or 31st but hinted at launching earlier in the month.
