Tether Report: There are already 109 million on-chain wallets holding USDT
According to reports, Tether's second insight report revealed a significant milestone for its stablecoin USDT. As of the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2024, there were 109 million on-chain wallets holding USDT. This makes USDT one of the most widely held digital assets, with its number of holders more than double that of Bitcoin and close to the 128 million wallets holding Ethereum.
In addition, on centralized systems, there are 86 million accounts with on-chain deposits in USDT. In the first three quarters of 2024, centralized exchanges received 4.5 billion page views, highlighting their importance in the crypto ecosystem. Crucially, emerging markets accounted for 46% of these website visits; many users from emerging market exchanges only purchase, hold and send USDT on their platforms.
The number of USDT wallets is four times that all other stablecoins combined and it remains a market leader. As at November 1st , there were 54 million on-chain wallets holding more than one cent worth in USDt - this figure is four times that including all other stablecoins' total wallet count which stands at around13 .8million . The comprehensive study covered about97 .5%ofthe total supply volume across ten blockchains involving25 different typesofstable coins.
