Electric Capital: For new developers, Solana has surpassed Ethereum to become the fastest growing ecosystem
According to The Block, a developer report released by venture capital firm Electric Capital found that Solana is the blockchain of choice for new developers. The report found that out of 39,148 new developers who began exploring cryptocurrency this year, 7,625 were developing on Solana, meaning the network's number of developers has increased by 83% year-on-year.
The report states that this is the first time since 2016 that the growth rate of Solana's blockchain ecosystem has surpassed Ethereum. However, in terms of total number of developers, Ethereum remains the largest blockchain in North America, South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. In terms of developer numbers alone though,Solana ranks second in these same regions.
Electric Capital's report also found that by 2024 Aptos,Base,Bitcoin ,Internet Computer ,NEAR ,Polkadot Polygon ,Starknet and Sui all added more than 1,000 new developers each .In addition BNB Optimism Scroll Stellar and TON also added an additional 500 new developers each.
