Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin: Suggests that Phuket Island could trial the use of Bitcoin
The former Prime Minister of Thailand, Thaksin, stated at a local seminar that Trump might repay US debt through Bitcoin. He particularly emphasized that this is not to encourage everyone to buy Bitcoin, but to remind everyone that this is a trend.
There are already various cryptocurrencies available now and some say the future will have more types of currencies than there are countries. The people of Thailand must keep up with the times and understand these changes. He also suggested that the Prime Minister could instruct the Ministry of Finance to study whether it would be possible for Thailand to accept Bitcoin, such as by piloting its use in Phuket Island so those who hold Bitcoin can make payments locally.
