U.S. Treasury Department: A North Korean cryptocurrency money laundering network has been shut down
the US Treasury Department announced on Tuesday that it has shut down a North Korean cryptocurrency money laundering network that laundered millions of dollars for North Korea, one of the major players in global cryptocurrency crime. According to a press release from the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), a UAE-based front company called Green Alpine Trading, LLC was found to be exchanging cryptocurrency for cash, providing funding for North Korea. The US government's sanction department has blacklisted the company.
