Trump has won enough electoral votes to officially win the presidency
on December 17th local time, US President-elect Trump has obtained enough electoral votes in the Electoral College meetings in various states, officially winning the presidency. The Electoral College meetings are a crucial part of the US presidential election system, and the president-elect needs to obtain 270 of the 538 electoral votes. The final count showed that Trump won 312 electoral votes. Next, the results of the electoral votes in each state will be sent to Congress. Members of Congress will officially count the electoral votes at the joint session on January 6th and declare Trump and Pence as the next President and Vice President respectively.
