Haliey Welch, the 22-year-old internet personality known as "Hawk Tuah Girl," posted for the first time in nearly two weeks on the social media platform X after her team received a lawsuit alleging the memecoin HAWK violated federal securities laws.

Welch takes "this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected and the broader community," she said in a Friday X post . "I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable and resolve this matter."

Those who experienced financial loss could contact Burwick Law, a New York-based legal group specializing in digital asset litigation, Welch continued in the post.

On Dec. 4, Welch's team and the web3 launchpad platform OverHere Limited launched the cryptocurrency HAWK, related to Welch's internet meme of "Hawk Tuah." Shortly after launch, the token's market capitalization rose to around $400 million before plummeting 90%.

Twelve HAWK investors filed a complaint on Dec. 19 against Welch's team and OverHere, alleging the token behaved as an unregistered security. The plaintiffs claimed to have experienced over $151,000 in losses and requested a jury trial, The Block previously reported.
