Abstract Contributors: Testnet metrics are easily forged, hoping for real users to actively participate when the mainnet is launched

Abstract Chain contributor cygaar posted on X saying: "The main reason I don't like testnet incentives is that real users are always at a disadvantage.

Testnet transactions are essentially free, which means people can easily automate a large number of activities. The chances for real users to stand out or compete with bots are basically 0%. If writing scripts has no cost, then you can run millions of transactions to try 'farming'. In fact, real users who naturally use the testnet will soon get lost.

Is this good for network metrics? Sure, but I don't care about the numbers on the testnet. These transactions do not help us and do not benefit our builders either; they can be easily faked. No one will be fooled by these data.

Ultimately, I want to see real users using our amazing ecosystem projects when we go live on the mainnet. This activity benefits our builders, users and chain."

Earlier today news came out that cygaar posted on X stating that Abstract's testnet has no incentives and noted that in the past two weeks there have been an additional 10 million transactions just transferring ETH between wallets.

cygaar explained its existence is to familiarize users with Abstract and provide developers with a temporary environment for deploying onto the main net. The team doesn’t care about those easily manipulated test net metrics.

It was reported that Pudgy Penguins parent company Igloo's L2 network Abstract Chain announced it would launch its main net next January.
