Australia's Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) ATM network has seen consistent growth, with the country now home to 1,359 Bitcoin ATMs, accounting for about 3.5% of the total global Bitcoin ATMs.

Coin ATM Radar data reveals that over the past 29 months, Australia has maintained a positive monthly growth streak in Bitcoin ATM installations.

As a result, the country ranks third in the world for the number of Bitcoin ATMs, with only the United States and Canada ahead.

Despite representing a small percentage globally, Australia's Bitcoin ATM network is approaching the total number found in Europe, which stands at 1,660.

If Australia reaches this number, it will become the third-largest network after the United States and Canada.

As of December 29, the United States continues to lead globally with 31,516 Bitcoin ATMs, making up 81.3% of the total worldwide.

Canada is in second place with 3,027 ATMs, while the North American region together accounts for over 90% of the world’s Bitcoin ATMs.

Europe and Oceania contribute about 4% each, while Asia holds just 0.9% of the global Bitcoin ATM market.

Globally, the total number of Bitcoin ATMs stands at 38,753.

The rise in Bitcoin ATM installations has also led to an increase in scams.

According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Bitcoin ATM scams cost users over $110 million in 2023.

In response to this, U.S. lawmakers have urged top Bitcoin ATM operators to address fraud concerns, especially regarding scams targeting elderly individuals.

At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin price was $93,380.19.
