Grayscale Report: Cryptocurrency Market Value Surpasses Total Global Inflation-Linked Bond Market in Q4 2024

According to a report by Grayscale Research, in the last quarter of 2024, the market value of cryptocurrency rose from 1 trillion US dollars to over 3 trillion US dollars, surpassing the total value of the global inflation-linked bond market. At one point, the market value of cryptocurrency was even twice that of the total market value of high-yield bonds in America. However, data from the report shows that despite this increase, cryptocurrency's market cap is still significantly smaller than either global hedge fund industry or Japan's stock market which stands at approximately 4.5 trillion US dollars. As of writing (December 31st, 2024), cryptocurrency's estimated worth is around $3.3 trillion USD. The significant growth in crypto-market capitalization during Q4 can be primarily attributed to Trump’s election victory in November.
