Data: proportion of financial advisors allocating crypto assets to clients doubles to 22% by 2024

The percentage of financial advisors who will include crypto assets in their clients' portfolios in 2024 has risen to 22% from 11% the year before, according to new survey data released by Bitwise Asset Management and VettaFi. Analysts see 2024 as a turning point for crypto assets, with the price of Bitcoin surging 123% to a new all-time high of $108,000, benefiting from the launch of a record number of spot Bitcoin ETFs, which have attracted more than $35 billion in inflows. Other crypto assets were also strong, with Ether up 45% and Solana up 85%.

Additionally, the crypto market continues to heat up with the launch of spot bitcoin ETFs by traditional financial giants such as BlackRock and Fidelity, as well as the potential for President Trump to push for more cryptocurrency-friendly policies after his election. Surveys show that 56% of financial advisors say they are more likely to invest in crypto assets this year as a result of the November 2024 election results, and the Republican Party's control of both chambers of Congress and expected appointment of a more pro-cryptocurrency chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will further ease regulatory pressure on digital assets.
