Citibank: 2025 will be the year of counterfeit coins
According to Jin10 reports, Citigroup analysts stated in a report on Monday that given Ethereum is the only major cryptocurrency (besides Bitcoin) approved as the basis for spot ETFs, it could be a rotation target. The performance of other cryptocurrencies has been even more outstanding, and their share in the overall market value of cryptocurrencies is growing. Citibank added that respondents from a recent survey believe that by 2025, altcoins will perform particularly well. Analysts said: "The performance of other cryptocurrencies and altcoins is even more meaningful, indicating that some market participants expect a 'altcoin season' after Bitcoin's strong year in 2025."
Citigroup analysts stated that new policy support would help consolidate the legitimacy of altcoins in the market and might push up prices; Bitcoin has been classified as a commodity with traditional financial trading tools such as spot ETFs and futures; In contrast, the definition of other crypto assets is less certain and investment options are more limited; Compared to Bitcoin, further policy support will provide tremendous momentum for altcoins.
