Cryptocurrency risk investment reached 4 billion USD in Q4 of 2024, with infrastructure projects leading the way
According to The Block, the total venture capital in the crypto industry reached $4 billion in Q4 2024, involving 687 transactions, marking the highest single-quarter investment in two years. Infrastructure projects attracted $4 billion, dominating capital inflows, followed by financial services ($970 million). Web3 projects had the most transactions at 141 deals, closely followed by NFT and gaming projects with 132 transactions.
Notably, decentralized finance (DeFi) projects remained stable with 125 completed transactions. Although infrastructure projects had fewer transactions (111), they attracted the most capital. In addition, investments were relatively cautious for data analysis (10 deals) and enterprise solutions (18 deals).
A major highlight was Cobie's angel co-investment platform Echo.xyz which participated in at least nine funding rounds including helping MegaETH complete a $10 million financing round within three minutes. This model allows key opinion leaders (KOLs) to create investment syndicates attracting followers to invest together providing more democratized opportunities for early-stage crypto investments.
