Democratic members of the U.S. Senate are circulating a memo claiming that Scott Bessent, President-elect Trump's nominee for Treasury Secretary, improperly reported nearly $2 million in tax losses and owes nearly $1 million in taxes related to his hedge fund. This provides them with ready ammunition as Bessent is set to face a hearing before the Finance Committee on Thursday. (Politico)
