Tether CEO: Efficient models reduce training costs, local and edge inference become trends
On January 27th, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino tweeted that training powerful models will no longer require millions of GPUs in the future. This method of relying purely on brute force computation is both inefficient and inelegant. Better models will significantly reduce training costs, while data acquisition remains key. Inference will shift towards local or edge devices, avoiding wasting hundreds of billions of dollars on pure computational power alone.
