More than one in five Russian respondents have traded or held Meme coins, according to a new survey by financial services provider Vyberu. The survey was conducted among 3,000 Russians aged between 18 and 60.

The survey also found that 15% of respondents said they bought Meme coins because they were influenced by the "hype". In addition, 4% of respondents said they bought Meme coins for "quick profits". Another 2% of respondents said they invested in the coins to "support the project creators".

Most of those who said they had bought Meme coins said they believed Meme coins had good "growth potential", and 23% of token buyers said they were attracted to Meme coins' "cultural or satirical aspects".

Six percent of respondents were attracted to Meme coins' active community and "fan base". In addition, a quarter of respondents believed that the issuance of Meme coins was an "effective marketing move". However, nearly half of the respondents believed that Meme coins were a "temporary phenomenon" and a social media trend.
