This new chain was built using OP Stack technology. It offers a highly scalable, low-cost, and interoperable infrastructure for decentralized finance. Within three weeks of its launch, Soneium has already achieved remarkable milestones. This includes over 10 million on-chain transactions, 2 million unique wallets, and $45 million in total value secured. The proposal suggests that Aave could position itself as the leading liquidity market on Soneium. Also, it will leverage Sony’s vast distribution network to reach a wider audience.
This deployment represents an opportunity to bring Aave to the doorstep of Sony’s massive user base. This will integrate DeFi into real-world use cases. With Soneium’s established network and a planned $4 million (100 million ASTR) ecosystem-wide liquidity incentive campaign. So, Aave could attract a wave of new users and deepen liquidity on the platform.

The proposal also highlights Soneium’s plans to adopt Aave’s GHO stablecoin. Particularly for real-world use cases like JPY-USD on-chain carry trades.

GHO’s initial supply cap is set at 2.5 million, with a borrow cap of 2.25 million. So, this will support sustainable growth as Base continues to attract more activity and users.
