Sonic Labs Joint Creation: The Meme coin craze does not affect DeFi development, as the two have different user groups
Golden Finance reports that Andre Cronje, co-founder of Sonic Labs (formerly Fantom), posted on platform X saying, "In the past we would argue over issues such as a feature that does not affect assets being controlled by an external account, or a contract being controlled by multiple signatures instead of a time lock. Now presidents and nations are 'bottoming out' us in completely illegal modes."
When asked if he regretted returning to the crypto circle, Cronje responded that this is just the result of wider adoption. The Meme coin craze does not conflict with his work. "Those participating in Meme coins are a group who don't care about DeFi or even blockchain at all. So Meme coins have not taken away any attention because those participants were never our user base."
