The Ethereum Pectra upgrade has been launched on the Holesky testnet, but it failed to complete the final confirmation
On February 25th, according to CoinDesk, the latest upgrade of Ethereum, Pectra, was activated on the Holesky testnet on the evening of February 24th but failed to complete final confirmation as expected. The upgrade includes 11 important improvement proposals (EIPs), among which core proposal EIP-7702 aims to improve the user experience of crypto wallets and EIP-7251 raises the maximum stake amount for validators from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH. Currently, Ethereum developers are investigating why they could not complete final confirmation through Eth RD Discord channel.
The next round of testing was originally scheduled for March 5th on Sepolia testnet. However, Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy stated that depending on how serious this issue is, the development team may postpone testing time. It's worth noting that this is not the first time similar issues have occurred in Ethereum's testnet. In January 2024 Dencun upgrade also failed to complete final confirmation on Goerli testnet. After completing tests on both networks, the development team will determine a specific date for main network upgrades.
