Bitcoin Policy Research Institute Policy Director: US legislators may amend securities law to grant passage to cryptocurrency tokens
Zack Shapiro, Policy Director at the Bitcoin Policy Institute, stated that legislators are only a few years away from passing a market structure bill that could potentially rewrite securities laws and essentially grant passage to cryptocurrency tokens. He added that Congress may also pass a stablecoin bill in the coming months. David Sachs, the White House's head of cryptocurrency, has recently prioritized an act involving stablecoin regulations under Trump's administration. The White House believes this move is crucial for maintaining the dominance of the US dollar and therefore among many new developments proposed by Trump (such as creating national bitcoin reserves), they have most confidence in passing a stablecoin law this year.
