Poll: A month into Trump's term, 44% of the public approve of his job performance
A poll released by Reuters/Ipsos on Tuesday showed that U.S. President Trump's approval rating remained stable over the past week, with 44% of respondents approving of his performance in his first month in office. The survey found that even though Trump fired tens of thousands of federal employees and the U.S.'s stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict reversed, Americans' views on him have basically not changed. The survey showed that 50% of people are dissatisfied with his work, slightly lower than last week's 51%, within a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points. So far, public support for Trump's job performance is still higher than most times during his first term from 2017 to 2021. An online poll conducted last Friday to Sunday among 1,029 American adults also showed that 50% supported Trump's approach to immigration issues, up from last week's 47%. Another 42% said they did not support his immigration policy.
