Ethereum Foundation Researcher: Ethereum's TPS may reach tens of millions in the next 10 years
PANews reported on February 26, according to The Block, Ethereum Foundation researchers including Vitalik Buterin discussed the Pectra upgrade, L1 revenue and future development in a Reddit "AMA". The Pectra upgrade is expected to be launched within a few months, increasing the number of block "blob" transactions from 3 to 6 to reduce L2 data costs.
The researchers proposed the concept of "native Rollup", allowing L2 to directly integrate into L1 to increase main chain revenue. Projects like Arbitrum and Base have expressed interest. Justin Drake predicts that in the next 10 years, Ethereum could support up to 10 million TPS (transactions per second), which equates to each person making 100 transactions per day. Even if only $0.001 is charged for each transaction, daily income can still reach $1 billion. Buterin stated that Ethereum will continue optimizing but its core technology is nearing maturity.
