The Mayor of Seoul, South Korea expressed support for cryptocurrency ETFs and STOs, and called for the establishment of a regulatory framework
According to Infomax of Yonhap News Agency, the Mayor of Seoul, South Korea, Oh Se-hoon, has expressed support for cryptocurrency ETFs and Security Token Offerings (STOs). In a Facebook post, Oh Se-hoon stated that South Korea should establish a regulatory framework that combines virtual assets with the real economy, similar to models in the United States and Europe. He emphasized the importance of establishing basic legislation for virtual assets which would make cryptocurrency ETFs, corporate cryptocurrency transactions and STOs possible. He also pointed out that these practices have been widely accepted in leading countries.
