SBF said that prison is a place no one wants to be in and called it “soul-crushing” for everyone.

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the convicted FTX founder, spoke openly in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson about life in prison and his surprising run-ins with inmate Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned rapper, producer, and businessman, is behind bars because of current legal problems. Although he has been involved in several lawsuits and accusations, including harassments and trafficking.

Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years on charges of complicity in one of the largest financial fraud cases ever. As of now he is detained at a federal detention facility and his bail has been rejected.

When asked about his interactions with the rapper, SBF responded, “He’s been kind to people in the unit. He’s been kind to me.” While acknowledging that prison is a tough and isolating place, he noted that small acts of kindness can make a difference. “It’s a position no one wants to be in… it’s kind of a soul crushing place for the world in general,” he admitted.

Carlson pointed out that Bankman-Fried and Diddy are two of the most famous prisoners in the world, asking how other inmates perceive them.

Bankman-Fried admitted it was a “really interesting question” and speculated that some may see it as an opportunity to interact with people they would never have met otherwise. However, he was quick to clarify, “That’s not how I think about prison.”

One of the surprises was discovering how good Bankman-Fried’s fellow prisoners were at chess. “Former armed robbers who don’t speak English… a surprising number of them are fairly good at chess,” he said, adding that he plays games against them regularly.

Sam Bankman-Fried’s insights from prison provide a rare glimpse into the lives of high-profile inmates like himself and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
